Kris WinterKris Winter holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History/Social Studies Education and is a certified K-12 reading instructor. She is a former high school history teacher, long time professional actress/storyteller, and creator of the Paper Cow Theater. For ten years Kris has facilitated her original drama curriculum through the University of Wisconsin summer program, and for eight years she produced one of her four original scripted "Earth Day" plays for Oaklawn Elementary School in Menomonie, WI.

Her celebrated storytelling characters, Madame Lanita and Sophie Obermueler, use powerful drama, sound effects and authentic props to bring over twenty original stories to life. Her improvisational drama workshops and artist-in-residence programs focus on creating authentic characters and stories through the power of imagination and simple storytelling techniques.

Kris shares her passion for the dramatic arts, creative writing, and original storytelling at schools, libraries, and special gatherings. Kris lives with her family near Downsville, Wisconsin, where she teaches and performs in her unique 1916 barn – the Paper Cow Theater.

All performances and workshops are original and include a colorful backdrop, amazing costumes and authentic props.
